Only 30 minutes from Dublin this thrilling activity can be enjoyed all year round. My family and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ireland’s premier outdoor karting facility and we absolutely loved it!
With the weather being a bit nippy, we wrapped up nice and warm for our outdoor karting experience.
We arrived to the location, which is just off exit 12 on the M1, at approximately 3:45pm as our booking was for 4pm. We were quickly suited and booted, before having our ‘drivers briefing’ in the seated reception area. After learning the rules of the road, it was time to make our way out to the modern outdoor Kart Racing Circuit. We each had our own vehicle, adult karts with a max speed of 80mph while the junior karts reach a max speed of 60mph – super speedy all the same!

Once outside, we jumped into our ALPHA KART’s pumped up, and ready to go head to head on the racing circuit. There’s no waiting around, as soon as everyone is seated in their karts, it’s straight to the track.
Competition was on as we hit the road all racing to win. It takes a lap or two to get the feel for the kart but once you’re comfortable, you’ll be bating around like a bat outta hell.
The Computerised Timing System with Lap time printouts allow you to chart your progress on the circuit – so there’s no cheating! I was actually surprised that I didn’t win, usually I have a need of speed and smoke David on the track. Whenever we go quad biking he eats my dust. However, on this occasion he lapped me 3 times and his best time was 5 seconds faster than mine – what was that about?! We’ll just have to return to WhiteRiver Park for a rematch.
