In November 2011, seven party animals made their way to the gambling capital of the world, Sin City. We most definitely made the most of our short time in Vegas. We went for four nights and managed to fit in two shows, numerous limo rides on the strip, a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, dinner in a revolving restaurant, shopping, gambling and some amazing night club experiences. Here’s my list of the top 8 things to do in Las Vegas.
1. Arrive in style
Prior to our arrival we organised a stretched hummer limo to collect us from the airport. This was the best decision ever – it got us off to a great start. We honestly couldn’t contain our excitement, we touched down in Vegas town, hopped in a hummer and made our way to the strip.

2. Stay on the strip
We stayed in the fabulous Ventian hotel in the Bella Suite – 2 Queen Beds for four girls. It’s one of the most impeccable suites, and one of the finest on the Strip. You’ll nestle into Egyptian cotton sheets and have a remote control for the Roman shades to set your mood. The rooms are huge with a living area so there was plenty of space for all of us – we even decorated our suit and had a little party!

We couldn’t get Tara out of the casino.
3. Gamble in the casinos
Obviously, if you’re in Vegas you have to do some sort of gambling. I’m not a huge fan of gambling but when I do play, you’ll find me at the roulette table. Before I left for vegas my dad advised me to put $50 on red. I took his advice and won $100. Then I put $100 on black and won $200 – that was me finished!
4. Have dinner in the Stratosphere
The Stratosphere Tower is attached to the Stratosphere Hotel and offers 360 degree views of Las Vegas, thrilling amusement park rides, restaurants, and nightlife perched at the Top of the World.
There’s not much in the price difference between cabs and limos, so we got limos to take us everywhere.
5. Shop til ye drop
We spent a day shopping in Las Vegas Premium Outlets – North it’s conveniently located just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. We were in Vegas in November so it was the ideal time to stock up on christmas pressies. Hugo Boss, Guess, Ralph Lauren, Armani, TAG Heuer and many more all a fraction of the RRP.
The Playboy Club nightclub formerly located on the 52nd floor of the Fantasy Tower at the Palms Casino Resort in Paradise. This club closed in June 2012.
6. Hit the clubs
There are plenty of options, but one thing’s for certain: Vegas nightlife is unreal. I can’t tell you which clubs are the best because we only went to a handful while we were there. You’ll find plenty of reps along the strip offering different club packages or you can simply choose to be put on the guest list – either way you’re gonna have a real good time!
7. Take in a show or two
Las Vegas is known as “The Entertainment Capital of the World” you definitely won’t be stuck for things to do. We managed to squeeze in two shows while we were there. We went to see Peepshow with the absolutely gorgeous Holly Madison – she’s even more beautiful in person. We opted for the VIP package, this meant we had our own private table at the front of the stage, with bottle service. We also went to see O show, Cirque Du Soleil in the Bellagio. The show was absolutely amazing but we were all exhausted and a few of the girls fell asleep – tut tut 🙁

8. Visit the Grand Canyon
No trip to Vegas is complete until you’ve visited the Grand Canyon by helicopter – dressed as Elvis of course! We opted for the Grand Canyon picnic tour with Sundance Helicopters. The 3.5 hour packages includes limo pickup, Hoover Dam, Mojave desert, Lake Mead, Colorado river, Grand Canyon, Champagne picnic and Las Vegas strip. It’s an unforgettable experience, worth every cent.
Let me know if you think I should add anything to the list. Thanks for reading X
