The seasonal concentration of Irish tourism to Spain shows the importance of “high season” summer travel. Over 50% of trips by Irish residents will take place during the months of May, June, July and August.
In 2016 until August, Irish travel concentrates on 6 main destinations: Canaries, Andalusia, Catalonia, Madrid, Valencia and Balearic Islands. These 6 destinations amount to 93,6% of Irish tourism to Spain.
Extraordinary air capacity to Spain, Spain is a very well-connected destination, up to August Irish and Spanish airlines (together with Tour Operators) have placed nearly 1.4 million seats (outbound) to Spain.
